Bench above first dam in logan

This bench has an amazing view of First Dam in Logan Canyon.  The best and easiest way to get there is to park at the parking lot  of  First Dam.  After you are parked you go though the under pass and make your way up the switch backs until you reach the bench.  Then bench however is not on the main trail.  There is a side trail that branches off of the main trail that takes you to the bench. once you get to the bench you catch your breath and taking in the magnificent view of the water below.  Along with the view there is a sign there that talks about Lake Bonneville (an ancient lake that use to cover up most of the State of Utah)
.

If you want to make the hike longer (since the hike to the bench from the parking lot is only about .2 miles) you can keep following the main trail up the hill and turn right.  This is a great trail that takes you along the edge of a cliff over lookin the canyon below.  It is a great place to go for a date or to go for a run to get the blood moving.

I found the bench when I went for a run up Logan Canyon and found it near the end of my run.  I started at the parking lot and went on the trail that goes along the road then I went up the road a steep climb and ran back along the trail that goes along the cliff.  It is a great loop for anyone wanting a longer outing.
